March 1967

1st March, Honolulu Star Advertiser’s review. As we saw in Pt.13, there were reviews in February; either breaking a press embargo or, more likely that the album was released before March 1967.

2nd March, The Indianapolis News reports on a potential event licensing issue.

4th March. The Birmingham News post their review (in amongst Tom Jones and Hollies LP’s)

4th March. Honolulu Star Bulletin posted another feature on the album, a few days later.

4th March. The Oregon Daily Journal runs a review.

5th March, The Tampa Tribune were less impressed.

5th March. No so much a review, but it was included in that weeks releases.

5th March. San Fransisco Examiner/Datebook have a feature on ‘The Underground’

5th March. The News and Observer,

6th March. The Boston Globe.

10th March. The Oil City Derrick

12th March. The Miami Herald

18th March. Asbury Park Press.

19th March. The Houston Chronicle – Art or LSD?

19th March. The Pensacola News Journal.

31st March. A new – and very different – Velvet Underground emerges in San Fransisco.
