20th November. The Detroit Free Press reporting on the evenings Velvet Underground/Mod Wedding.
21st November. The Detroit Free Press review the night.
27th November. The Philadelphia Inquirer announce an event of underground films with a performance by The Velvet Underground.
It’s not THAT Velvet Underground or even the Australian Velvet Underground but a student band with the same name. Which could suggest that the name was not that well known, but more likely they were simply just unaware.
1st November, Casper Star Tribune.
1st November. The Akron Beacon Journal. And the first mention of THAT Velvet Underground.
2nd November. And that weird ‘In Society’ column in The Cincinnati Enquirer again.
3rd November. The Cincinnati Enquirer mentions that Nico drums in the upcoming Exploding Plastic Inevitable.
4th November, The Akron Beacon
4th November, The Cincinnati Enquirer reviews Thursday night’s Exploding Plastic Inevitable.
11th November. The Hamilton Spectator has a feature on the Exploding Plastic Inevitable.
11th November. The UK’s Evening Standard has a feature on Beat changing to Psychedelic and mentions the Velvet Underground.
13th November. The Detroit Free Press has a mention of the band over three pages, including Nico as ‘Girl of the Year’
14th November. The Hamilton Spectator reviewed the night they previewed on the 11th.
14th November. The Toronto Star runs a feature on The Exploding Plastic Inevitable
17th November. The Evening Sun announces that the 19th November show is cancelled
18th November. The Detroit Free Press has an advert for the ‘Mod Wedding.’
And on another page, a mention of the line-up for the festival. With Dick Clark declaring ‘he wouldn’t want to miss the Velvet Underground.
